Bluegrass United

A Homeschool Community

Bluegrass United Leadership Program

Bluegrass United is committed to developing leaders to serve the homeschool community and the world beyond. The BU leadership program consists of three components:

1) Bluegrass United Leadership Board (B.U.L.B.)

2) Bluegrass United Academic Center Leadership Course

3) Bluegrass United Academic Center Ninth Grade Foundations Course

Bluegrass United Leadership Board (B.U.L.B.)

BLUB consists of student leaders selected by the Bluegrass United adult leadership. Criterion for selection for BULB includes general leadership ability and/or potential, capacity to think creatively and independently,  confidence to organize and instruct peers, ability to communicate with and influence a wide variety of people ; and willingness to serve others. Students are picked to represent a cross section of Bluegrass United. Although students who participate in BULB utilize and build leadership skills, the purpose of this board is not to serve the individuals on it. Instead, BULB exists to serve the BU community. BULB is responsible for providing leadership for events, planning for future events; visioning and assisting with implementation of BU goals and programming, reaching out and providing assistance to younger students, demonstrating outstanding character, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Members of the team must attend regularly scheduled meetings, attend a leadership retreat and participate in the Bluegrass United Academic Center Leadership Course. The adult leader of BULB is Bob Peterson.
